What is ViPR?
Vitality. Performance. Reconditioning
ViPR bridges the gap between movement and strength training. It combines full-body movement with load, enhancing the vitality, performance and reconditioning goals of clients and athletes. ViPR introduces a new concept in fitness and sports conditioning - Loaded Movement Training.
Loaded Movement Training combines task-oriented movement patterning with resistance training. Agility and strength come from moving the body in a multitude of purposeful tasks with load, just like back on the farm.
ViPR was inspired by farm kids who moved with load in daily life and who were stronger than any other competitors in sport. With ViPR, we can produce farm-strengthened bodies anywhere, without ever setting foot on a farm, without doing a single chore, in a fun, safe and effective way.
As ViPR creator Michol Dalcourt explains, the science of movement supports integrating Loaded Movement Training using ViPR into current training protocols for all fitness goals.
ViPR can be found in the fitness and training facilities of:EViPR was created from a need to foster purposeful motion and blend strength training with functional training and movement. Movement is fundamental. And what makes up effective movement is a blend of lifting, shifting, and twisting. Integrated movements like these become incredibly effective at producing results when combined with load."
Why ViPR?By studying the body and its adaptations, we know that Loaded Movement Training with ViPR effectively challenges and conditions muscle, fascia, nerves, skin and other systems of the body. Science shows that moving with load improves balance, agility and dynamic strength, to reach goals such as weight management, improved functionality in daily life and enhanced performance in sport.
Increased functional mobility and agility
Improvement in multi-directional stability, strength and power
Enhanced balance, timing and coordination
Increased calorie burn during and after workouts.
Introducing Loaded Movement Training:Loaded Movement Training combines task-oriented movement patterning with resistance training. Agility and strength come from moving the body in a multitude of purposeful tasks with load, just like back on the farm.
Movement is essential to training healthy bodies. The more we move in dynamic ways using our full body in training programs, the better we feel. Adding weight (load) to movement gives the body a double benefit – we learn to move better, and become stronger and fitter at the same time.
When engaging in Loaded Movement Training, every time you move, you are integrating the entire structure and the entire body in every movement you do. Every exercise becomes a core exercise, every exercise becomes a strength exercise, and every exercise becomes an agility exercise, to take into account the movement and energy demands of life and sport.
By studying the body and its adaptations, we know that Loaded Movement Training effectively challenges and conditions muscle, fascia, nerves, skin and other systems of the body. Science shows that moving with load improves balance, agility and dynamic strength, to reach goals such as weight management, improved functionality in all aspects of life, and enhanced performance in every level of sport.
"Movement is the necessary antidote against disease and decay. Moving with external load creates strong bodies that can function with optimum effectiveness, thus Loaded Movement Training is an essential component of our training and conditioning programs."
Michol Dalcourt, ViPR creator
ViPR and Loaded Movement Training
You may be familiar with resistance training, core training, and agility training, a few well-known concepts in the fitness industry. These concepts use tools such as barbells/dumbbells (resistance), stability balls (core), and speed ladders (agility) and are all valuable forms of training for many fitness goals.
ViPR is a durable, portable and easy way to incorporate the new concept of Loaded Movement Training into your training routines, along with the concepts and products you know. There is no need to replace your current training methods; simply incorporate Loaded Movement Training into your existing training protocols.
ViPR was developed specifically out of a need to incorporate Loaded Movement Training into traditional training protocols in a safe and effective way. ViPR creator Michol Dalcourt invented ViPR after observing the way farm kids were always stronger in sport than kids who had grown up in cities and only trained in gyms.
The difference in their strength was simple – the farm kids were moving purposefully with load on the farms as they did their chores, without knowing it. They were moving things to different places and performing various tasks with weight. City kids mostly trained in a linear fashion, and did not incorporate much three-dimensional movement into their gym-based routines. It was not that the traditional gym training of the city kids was inherently bad; it was simply incomplete. Michol Dalcourt needed a way to fulfill this missing link in training and, from this need, ViPR was born.
With ViPR, we can produce farm-strengthened bodies anywhere, without ever setting foot on a farm, without doing a single chore, in a fun, safe and effective way.
Benefits of Vipr TrainingYou may have heard about Vipr Training or weighted resistance tube training and wondered what it is? They use the four pillars of human movement: gravity-into-ground loading, stretch-to-shorten, multi-directional movement and using the entire body for movement.
Functionally trains the body to improve muscular response, increase fat burn and metabolic rate. Increases tone, strength, power & speed along with bridging the gap between movement and strength. It's the programming of a traditional resistance workout together with the physical agility needed for an optimal sports or fitness performance. Suitable and adaptable for elite athletes, through all levels of training to GP referrals – they can be used indoors, outdoors or in small spaces.
- Provides an effective whole-body workout
- Improves balance and flexibility
- Build lean tissue and burn calories through strength and movement training
- Versatile. It can be lifted, dragged, flipped and thrown
- Safety comes from being made from rubber as opposed to steel free weights.
- Suitable for all ages and abilities. Weights ranging from 4-20kg.
- It's different and hence adds variety into training plans.
- Mostly uses compound exercises so exercises more than one muscle group at a time
- Encourages aerobic activity with strength
- Can be delivered as group exercise
